In a world where populism, hate speech and societal tensions along identity markers thrive and questions about the rights of minorities and the safeguards necessary to ensure them are becoming central, there is a need to provide a platform to build links between people across barriers, borders and cultures because discrimination against religious and ethnic minorities causes suffering, spread divisions, and contributes to a climate of fear. Taking this aim it is important that we speak about minority rights on a regional as well as international level.
In this growing era of hatred and intolerance South Asian Research Institute for Minorities emerged as an organization having a vision based on defending rights of minorities of south Asia. We at South Asia Research Institute for Minorities believe that walls are not the solution we believe in mutual respect between religions.
Through a regular updated online resource on our website and publications of annual reports, international conferences, we exchange views through constructive dialogue and organized seminars, webinars with domain experts and researchers. Our aim is to bring views, voices and vision that are objective and informed yet non-parochial, unbiased and independent. Our organization supports and highlights the issues of minorities from all over the south Asian region as they strive to maintain their rights – to the land they live on, the language they speak, to equal opportunities in every aspect.
