UP Shocker: BDS Student Molested, Slapped by Classmate, Jumps off Fourth Floor of College Building in Meerut, Dies (Watch Video)
A second-year dental science student of a private medical college here died on Friday, two days after she allegedly jumped off the fourth floor of the building and was hospitalised with critical injuries, police said.

A Bachelor of Dental Surgery student jumped off from her college building in Meerut. Vania Sheikh reportedly died by suicide. Sheikh jumped from the fourth floor of the library of Subharti University. She was allegedly harassed mentally and physically by her classmate Siddharth Panwar. When she resisted his advances, he slapped her in full public view She was a student of Subharti University, Meerut. As per reports, Sheikh had lodged a complaint against Panwar in the college administration 6 months ago. The incident happened on the evening of October 19. Now, Panwar has been taken into custody.

A shocking incident of student suicide has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut city. A 20-year-old medical student, who jumped off of a Meerut college on Wednesday, today died at a hospital. She was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Reports said that she was a second-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) student at Subharati Medical College in the Vivekanand Subharti University. She tried to die by suicide by jumping of the fourth floor of the college.
Sharing this incident on Twitter, Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi wrote that BJP ruled states were turning into graveyards for daughters, in Shubharati Meerut, BDS student Vania Shaikh committed suicide by jumping off the roof, her classmate Siddharth Panwar molested her publicly and slapped her for protesting.
Police said that she was sitting in the library and was talking to someone on her phone call. Later, she jumped off from the fourth floor. According to her phone call record, she had a heated argument with someone on the phone.
In a similar incident, a 25-years-old Banaras Hindu University (BHU) student committed suicide in his hostel room. The student has been recognized as Prem Shankar. He was pursuing Master of Law from the Faculty of Law and was living in the Ambedkar hostel of the university campus. He allegedly updated his Whats app status before taking the extreme step.
A Lanka police station official said that his body was found hanging from a ceiling fan with help of a bed sheet in the hostel room. The body has been sent for autopsy. The parents told Police that the student’s parents had talked to him at 10 PM but they did not find anything to be concerning. The parents have demanded an inquiry into the matter.
