On the one hand, the Madhya Pradesh government is emphasizing on safe delivery of pregnant women by running the Janani Suraksha Yojana, while on the other hand, many such incidents came to the fore in the state when the pregnant women had to give birth due to non-availability of health services at the gate of the hospital and on the way. Now the matter of demanding bribe in lieu of delivery has come to the fore.
The latest case is from Datia District Hospital of the state. Here the pregnant woman was suffering from labor pain, but the hospital staff did not even come to see the woman. A pregnant woman who reached for delivery kept moaning in pain sitting on the road for a long time, but no doctor or nurse reached the hospital gate to treat her. Seeing the woman moaning in pain, a large crowd of people gathered and the relatives of the victim were advised to go to a private hospital, after which the relatives took the pregnant woman to Jhansi in a private ambulance.
According to information, 30-year-old Prati Prajapati’s wife Sonu Prajapati, a resident of Dursada village, had labor pains around 4 pm on Sunday. After this the relatives called 108. After a long time, when the ambulance did not reach, the relatives reached the district hospital by taking the pregnant woman in a private vehicle. The family alleges that the staff nurse present in the hospital saw the woman but definitely did not admit her. The debate went on for a long time. After the argument, the angry staff took the pregnant woman out of the hospital along with her family members. People gathered outside the hospital to see the woman moaning in pain. After this, the woman was admitted to Jhansi private hospital in a private ambulance.
According to the woman’s husband Sonu, the hospital staff saw his wife but some staff nurses demanded money for the delivery. On protesting, the nurses told her that there would be an operation. On this he said that this is the second delivery of the wife. Earlier there was a normal delivery. After the argument, the relatives were taken out of the hospital.
In this matter, The Mooknayak spoke to Dr. RB Kurile, CMHO of Datia District Hospital. He told that the matter has come to the notice through social media. This incident will be investigated and legal action will be taken against the culprits.
