Madhya Pradesh: Adivasi youth was beaten to death, angry relatives performed the last rites in front of the house of the accused


Bhopal. Incidents of atrocities on Dalit tribals are continuously coming to the fore in Madhya Pradesh. A case of lynching of a tribal youth has come to light in Khandwa of the state. The accused thrashed the young man with a rod, after which he died. The reason for the murder is said to be a personal dispute. The names of the people who had beaten up the young man have been revealed by the young man himself in the video before his death. The police have registered a case against three people in this matter. After this, the angry relatives protested by performing the last rites in front of the house of the accused.
What is the whole matter?
Actually the matter is of Khandwa district. A tribal youth was mercilessly beaten up by the accused on Monday late night in village Kothada under Khalwa police station area. Khandwa Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said that Phoolchand was thrashed by the accused, after which he reached home in a bloody condition and informed his relatives about the incident. He told that some people beat him with an iron rod. The family took him in an ambulance and left for Khandwa district hospital. Phoolchand died on the way.
The relatives allege that the accused are strongmen of the village. The tribal society has demanded his arrest. The family gheraoed the police station for justice and compensation. According to Phoolchand’s wife, the police have registered a case of murder against Durgalal, Ramdayal alias Ramu and Mayaram of Kothada. Teams have been formed to arrest the accused.
The family of the deceased survives by doing wages. The tribal society demanded early arrest of the accused in Phoolchand’s murder case, increasing the number of accused in the case and hanging the accused. Also demanded financial help of Rs 51 lakh to the family and government job to the family member. The people of the society had laid siege to the police station late in the night itself. After that, when the accused were not arrested till Tuesday afternoon, there was a chakkajam in Khalwa. Police assured that the accused have been taken into custody, then the chakkajam was opened.
Before the last rites of the deceased Phoolchand, the family members staged a sit-in by keeping the dead body on the road. The relatives also demanded to run bulldozers on the houses of the accused. The last rites were performed after the consultation of the police and administrative officers. The resentment of the family members was so much that, instead of performing the last rites at Muktidham, it was performed in front of the house of the accused.
