Rajasthan: Employment is visible only on paper, workers do not get work for 100 days

Workers rally and conference organized on Labor Day in Gogunda, Udaipur
Rajasthan. International Labor Day was organized by Aravalli Nirman Mazdoor Suraksha Sangh, Gogunda. The workers took out a rally in the town from 11 am. During the rally, the workers protested in the name of the Chief Minister, for not getting work in MNREGA for 100 days, without notice being removed, not receiving the receipt of the application, not getting the payment for months, and registration in the Labor Welfare Board and giving benefits by the department for 100 days. Gave a memorandum regarding the problems like keeping the applications pending till the time.
A total of 30330 job cards are made in Kumbhalgarh block. Out of these, only 489 families have got 100 days work in Saira in the financial year 2022-23. Out of this, there was a lot of anger among the workers regarding the fact that only nominal families would get additional employment of 25 days. The workers staged a symbolic sit-in and told that it seems clear from the statistics of MNREGA that the laborers are not being provided full work under MNREGA, nor are they given the receipt of application for work. The workers warned that if their demands are not resolved after considering their demands, then the workers will be forced to agitate. More than 400 workers of the area participated in the rally under the leadership of Aravalli Nirman Mazdoor Suraksha Sangh.

Labor brothers and sisters called upon to continue fighting for their rights
Mohan Lal, an activist associated with the organization, said that from the Parliament to the common roads of this country, the laborers have built them. Centuries ago the workers of America raised their voice against exploitation. Even today the workers are moving towards the same conditions. Today, in the market and industries, the basic laws like minimum wages for workers, equal wages for men and women, 8 hours of work, and social security to every worker are not being followed. The rapidly increasing number of workers in the unorganized sector is a strong proof of this. Even today the exploitation of the laborers continues and the labor laws are continuously being eroded. In such a situation, the workers will always have to unite and continue the fight against exploitation.
Mohanlal told that a large number of women and men workers are associated with the organization and they recognize their strength. In true sense, the laborers are the creator of the country and an important partner of development. If there was no labor, these forts, palaces, roads and buildings would not have been there. Today, even after the MNREGA Act, the laborers are not getting full work and wages on time, it is a matter of great concern. The laborers do not get wages even after coming to work and the employee gets salary while sitting at home on holidays. The laborers will have to demand their rights and laws as their rights and will have to move ahead firmly on the issue of equal wage payment.

After the rally, labor conference was organized where women and men workers should get equal pay for equal work, continuously applying for work in MNREGA and taking receipt, registering complaints for schemes of Labor Welfare Board, education of children and child labor like The issues were discussed. In the discussion, in today’s program of Aravalli Nirman Mazdoor Suraksha Sangh, Minister of State Jagdish Raj Shrimali said that the amount of the schemes will be released to the laborers after disposing of all the pending applications of the above Labor Welfare Board and thousands of applications pending in the past. Around 400 workers were present in the rally and meeting.
