A 20-year-old woman has claimed that she was assaulted by some four-five security guards in Dhaka’s Bashundhara residential area, and they shaved her head.
A case has been filed in this regard with the capital’s Vatara police station on Monday night.
Inspector of Vatara police station Shariful Islam said: “Due to past enmity, the young woman was tortured inside a nursery in Madani Avenue of Bashundhara residential area. Her hair has been cut and shaved. An investigation has started.”
He noted that they are also looking into why and with whom the woman went to the nursery.
“The woman is scared and in shock right now. We will talk to her when she is stable. The case was filed against unnamed security guards, hence we are trying to find them,” the inspector added.
According to the case statement, the young woman lives in a rented house in the Bashundhara residential area under the Vatara police station. She is preparing for honors admission tests.
“Due to past enmity, four or five unidentified security guards in Bashundhara residential area came to my home address at around 8am on Sunday and forcibly took me inside Bashundhara Madani Avenue Nursery. Then they beat me up and injured various parts of my body. They later cut and shaved the hair,” reads the case statement.
