On the way back from school, the student died in the anger of a bully

A miscreant hacked to death a student named Mukti Burman (16) on her way back from school in Barhatta upazila of Netrokona. He was taken to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at around 5 pm on Tuesday, where the doctors declared him dead. The police could not arrest the accused Kaushar Mia (21) until this report was written at 7 pm.
The deceased Mukti Burman was the daughter of Nikhil Burman of Premnagar village in Upazila and a class 10 student of Premnagar Chalipura High School. And the accused Kauchar Mia is the son of Samchu Mia of the same village.
Liton Burman, the uncle of the deceased Mukti Burman, said that Kaushar had been harassing his niece for a long time on the way to and from school. The matter was also informed to his family. Kauchar cut and injured Mukti on the way back from school today. Later, he was rescued and taken to Barhatta Upazila Health Complex, where after the first treatment, the doctors sent him to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital. He was declared brought dead after being taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital from there.
Mukti Burman’s classmates said that they were returning home together from school around 3:30 p.m. today. After reaching Chalipura area, which is about two kilometers from the school, suddenly Kauchar Da Di Mukti Kopa started. At that time they ran scared and started screaming. Local people rushed to rescue Mukti and took him to Barhatta Hospital.
Premnagar Chalipura High School Principal Abul Khair Akand said, ‘Mukti’s family is very poor. The girl was calm and intelligent. She was a humanities student. This is very tragic. We demand the swift arrest of the scoundrel and exemplary punishment.’
Officer-in-charge of Barhatta police station Khokon Kumar Saha told Prothom Alo that the police are conducting raids in various places to arrest the accused youth. The dead body of Mukti Burman has been kept in the mortuary of Mymensingh Medical College.
