Jaipur. The Anta Municipal Administration of Baran district of Rajasthan is building a sewer treatment plant and a garbage disposal center near the Dalit settlement. Here the people of Neelkanth Colony have now come against it. The residents of the basti allege that the municipal administration is deliberately building a sewer treatment plant near the Dalit basti.
The people of Neelkanth Colony told that the place near the Scheduled Caste colony was deliberately chosen for the sewer treatment/garbage disposal center, while people of Dalit community have been living here for years. This is a legal colony.
City sewer will be collected here
Villagers told that more than 90 percent people of Dalit community live in Neelkanth Colony of Anta. If a sewer treatment plant is built near the township, then the sewer of the entire city will be collected and disposed of here. This will cause inconvenience to the residents of the colony. There will also be a possibility of spread of disease due to bad smell and storage of waste.
appealed to the collector
Bhim Army District General Secretary Rakesh Godala, a resident of Baran and Neelkanth Colony, told The Mooknayak that in protest against the sewer treatment plant near the Dalit Basti Neelkanth Colony, the people of the colony had earlier submitted separate memorandums to the municipal administration and the local subdivisional officer. Was made aware of the problems being faced, but instead of understanding their suffering, the local authorities ignored them.
He said that under compulsion the people of Dalit Basti reached the Kota District Collector’s Office. Where he wrote his grievance in a letter and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of the State to the District Collector. Godala told that if the location of the garbage disposal center near the Dalit basti is not changed, he will take this issue to the Bhim Army and the people of the basti will also agitate together.
Former city in-charge of Bhim Army Jitendra Godala and member Anurag Narwal also live in Neelkanth Colony. Along with the people of the colony, he went to Kota with the grievance of the District Collector. He told that the government has enough exclusive land away from the population in Anta municipality area. Sewer treatment plant could be installed on it. Despite this, setting up a garbage disposal center near the Dalit colony shows malice.
It is alleged that the place where a garbage disposal center is going to be built in Anta Neelkanth Colony. There is already a hostel of Meghwal Samaj. If students stay here in future, their health will be affected and their studies will be affected by the stench. In such a situation, the place of garbage disposal center should be changed from here.
Sewer treatment plant will be built at a cost of 12 crores
According to information, a sewer treatment plant is going to be built in Anta at a cost of about Rs 12 crore. Regarding this, the people of the colony have also submitted a memorandum to the MLA and Minister of Mines and Cow Husbandry in the Government of Rajasthan, Pramod Jain Bhaya. Despite this there was no solution.
Was the land allotted for settlement or sewer treatment first?
The people of Neelkanth Colony, situated in Bardiya of Anta, claim that people of Dalit society have been living here for years. Despite this, approving land for sewer treatment plant near the population is wrong.
In this regard, The Mooknayak spoke to Sub-Divisional Officer Deepak Mahavar. Deepak Mahavar told The Mooknayak that the people of Neelkanth Colony have given a complaint in this regard. Here the settlement is settled before or after the allotment of land for sewer treatment plant. Getting it investigated. If the plant is in the middle of the population, then we will look for another place for it.
