In Dugar village of Parsoli police station area of the district, a case of a Dalit bhajan singer placing a bundle of shoes on his head and apologizing on a public platform has come to light. The elderly bhajan singer artiste is accused of insulting Sadu Mata, the goddess of Gurjar community, while singing Bagdavat. The incident is reported to have taken place on 16 September.
The victim’s family and the Dalits living in the village are scared since the incident. Some people are even calling Dalits and threatening to kill them. The audio of bullying is also viral. There is anger among Dalit organizations after the video of brutality on an elderly Dalit bhajan singer went viral. In protest against the incident, various Dalit organizations under the banner of Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi have submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police demanding legal action against the accused. After protests from social organizations, the police met the victim’s family and took their statements. However, no one has been arrested in this case yet.
Meghwal Mahasabha District President Shankar Lal Meghwal Bildi told that Dalchand Salvi is an old man in Dugar village of Begu subdivision of Chittorgarh district. They go from village to village singing Bagwat songs. On September 16, anti-social elements from Dugar and nearby villages forced the bhajan singer to apologize by threatening him and accusing him of insulting Sadu Mata in the song Bagdavat. During this, a bundle of shoes was placed on the singer’s head and an apology was sought with folded hands. This is an inhuman incident. The accused have also made the video of the incident viral. Such incidents are shameful for humanity. There is anger among Dalit organizations after this incident.
Nirmal Desai, patron of the Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, said that this incident points towards the increasing crimes of caste mentality. The song on which the people of Gurjar community have expressed objection. I have not heard. If the lyrics of the song hurt your public beliefs then you could have taken legal action. He is an elderly bhajan singer. Whom you have insulted just because of being a Dalit. Nimral Desai says that we have submitted a signed memorandum to the Superintendent of Police in protest against this incident. The police have been demanded to take action against the anti-social elements seen in the viral video.
All India Salvi Sutrakar Mahasabha patron Madaran Salvi said that in Dugar village under Parsoli police station of Chittorgarh district, an elderly man Dalchand Balai Bagdawat bhajan singer artiste was made to stand in the middle of the village and made to wear shoes on his head and apologized under the decision of Khaf Panchayat. . This incident is highly condemnable in a democracy. It is going to promote feudalism. Regarding this incident, Dalit organizations have also written letters to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Human Rights Commission and District Collector of the state.
During this, Chhaganlal Chanwla, founder and convenor of Ambedkar Vichar Manch Sansthan, BAMCEF’s national officer Ramavatar Meena, Sitaram Meena Pratapgarh, Gaurav Jatav Chotisaddi, Ashok Meena Badisaddi, Shankarlal Meena Pratapgarh, Vinod Meena Badisaddi, Govind Meena Badisaddi, Bhairulal Bairwa Chittorgarh and Bhairulal Meena. People from dozens of Dalit organizations including Muroli, Gangaram Meghwal Chittorgarh, Shantilal Meghwal, Vridvi Chand Meghwal, Nanalal Regar were present.
Chittorgarh Superintendent of Police Rajan Dushyant has registered a case in the concerned police station in this incident. The investigation of the incident has been handed over to Begu Deputy Superintendent of Police.
