UP: Dalits beaten while playing with colors in Holi, police could arrest only one youth in 48 hours!

A total of 6 people have suffered serious injuries in this attack on Dalits. A total of 10 people are named in the victim’s complaint.

Uttar Pradesh. While playing with colors in Holi in Bijnor district of UP, upper caste people allegedly beat up Dalits by calling them caste-related words. During this period there was a lot of uproar and stone pelting. More than half a dozen people were injured in the fight that took place during this incident. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and registered a case against 10 people from the Dalit side and 11 people from the other side. The police could arrest only one youth in 48 hours. BSP supremo and former Chief Minister Mayawati has expressed displeasure in this matter.

Actually, the whole matter is of Mukhtiyarpur village of Najibabad in Bijnor district. This incident happened with Baburam. Baburam first complained to the police in this matter and lodged an FIR. The Mooknayak contacted Baburam. Baburam told The Mooknayak- “I am a resident of Hakipur Disaundhi, Mukhtarpur, Najibabad. This incident occurred on March 25 at around 12:00 noon. We were all playing with colors.”

Babu Ram says, “During this time, due to old rivalry, my village’s Pankaj Kumar son of Dharmendra Singh, Alok Kumar son of Naresh Singh, Rajan alias Tinku son of Naresh Singh, Ujjwal son of Umesh Kumar, Dimple son of Suresh Singh, Bhupesh Singh son of Jaipal Singh, Tarun Kumar son of Bhupesh Singh, Akash son of Umesh Singh, Yogesh son of Jaipal Singh and Vipin son of Pasiram Padarathpur living in Padarathpur attacked us. They hurled caste based abuses at us and started assaulting us with dangerous weapons with intent to kill.”

“When we raised alarm, the residents of the village, Shubham son of Kumar Singh, Atul son of Hitesh Neeraj son of Daulat Ram, Magan son of Murali Singh, An son of Magan Singh, Kunal son of Magan Singh, Pawan son of Dharampal Singh and Bittu son of Udesh Kumar came for help. During this, the accused beat everyone with swords, sticks, rods, sickles and axes. In this incident, my sons Pradeep and Sonu along with all others also suffered serious injuries.”

According to the police, “More than half a dozen people were injured in the conflict between people over dancing on Holi. Many people have suffered serious injuries. The injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital. March 25 in Mukhtarpur village of Najibabad. While playing Rang, a speaker box was playing outside a house in the village, on which some youth were dancing. During this, a boy from Dalit side also reached there while dancing. Then a dispute broke out over the song. Earlier The youth from both sides were sent away from there after understanding, but later the two sides clashed again. Both the sides attacked each other, in which more than half a dozen people were seriously injured.

Earlier in this case, a case was filed by Dalit party Baburam against the other party. Then a case has also been filed from Chauhan’s side. At present, people from both sides have been injured. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. At the same time, the entire matter is being investigated by the police.

SP City Sanjeev Vajpayee told The Mooknayak, “In this case, the case was filed first by the Dalit side and later by the Chauhan side, because people from both the sides were injured. 10 to 12 people are named in both the cases. The case is being investigated.”

In this case, Mayawati wrote on social media, “The incident of many people getting injured in the fatal attack on Dalit families by feudal elements in Mukhtiyarpur village of Najibabad in Bijnor district is serious and very sad. The government will take action against the culprits under the SC/ST Act. “Take strict action against him so that the election atmosphere does not deteriorate. The Election Commission should also take cognizance of this.”

10 people named, only one arrested in 48 hours

Najibabad Desh Deepak Singh, the officer investigating this case and DSP of the area, said, “An accused Yogesh Chauhan has been arrested in this case. The search for other people is going on.” It is noteworthy that a total of 6 people have suffered serious injuries in this attack on Dalits. A total of 10 people are named in the victim’s complaint. The police could arrest only one youth in 48 hours.
