UP: Dead body of Dalit youth found in sugarcane field, accused of murder, police is not registering FIR!
Family members refused to perform the last rites, protested by keeping the dead body on the road.

Uttar Pradesh. The body of a Dalit youth living in Purakalandar area of Ayodhya district of UP was found lying in a sugarcane field. While the bike was standing on the road near him. Actually, the incident took place in Bhikharipur village of Purakalandar police station area. The body of Sunil Kumar Raidas (32), who lives in the village, was found on the roadside near Moiyakpur village on Tuesday afternoon.
The family alleges that some people wanted to hush up the matter by calling it an accident. They say that the young man had left the house asking to take money from someone. When the dead body was found, the family members and villagers together placed the body on the road and started protesting. When the jam occurred, top police officials also reached the spot. He assured action, then the body was sent for post-mortem after which the body reached home.
After getting information about the incident, Bhim Army workers also reached the spot and were adamant on cremating the body only after the post mortem report came. Police assured to take action. After which the last rites took place. However, no FIR has been registered in this case yet. Police say they are waiting for the post mortem report.
Family members accused of murder
Let us tell you that the dead body of the son of Santram Raidas, resident of Bhikharipur village of Purakalandar police station area of Ayodhya district, was found in a sugarcane field. When contacted Santram, he told ‘The Mooknayak’ – “The body of my son Sunil Kumar Raidas (32) was found on the roadside near Moiyakapur village. Some people were trying to hush up the matter by calling it an accident. But I know he has been murdered.”
Santram told- “My son had told that he works in Cholamandalam Devkali. He had gone from home with his motorcycle asking to get money from someone. He left around 8:30 in the morning. He said he was going to Devkali city. He also told that he would return at 1:30 pm. But did not reach home till 8:45 pm. Later I came to know that his motorcycle was parked near Tiwari Ka Purva village on Ram Vanagaman Marg. When we searched nearby, his body was found in the sugarcane field of Kripa Nidhan Tiwari.”
Angry family members and villagers blocked the road
After this incident, angry family members and villagers blocked the Draft Suchitaganj road, fearing murder. On receiving information about the jam, top police officials reached the spot. Police officials assured action.
During this time, Bhim Army workers, villagers and family members insisted on getting the post-mortem report and taking action against the nominated Tahrir. They kept the dead body and started protesting again. On receiving information about protest by keeping dead body in Bhikharipur village, apart from the entire Qalandar police, Cantt police, Raunahi and Bikapur police also reached and within a short time Bhikharipur village was transformed into a cantonment. After the advice of police and District Panchayat member Raja Mansingh, the body was cremated.
The wife of the deceased filed a complaint against four named people
In this case, the deceased’s wife Usha Devi has made a complaint against the murder of the deceased by calling him on phone and making his relatives including Dinanath Tiwari, son of Laxman, Sonu and Rahul, son of Dinanath, resident of Gonda, resident of Moiyakapur Majre Tiwari Purva, as accused. Purakalandar police station officer Ratan Kumar Sharma told The Mooknayak – “We have received a complaint in this matter. “After investigating the case and registering the cause of death in the post-mortem report, action will be taken.”
