MP: Police brought a Dalit youth to the police station for questioning, his body was found hanging in custody
In Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, a young man allegedly committed suicide in a police station. The police had brought him to the police station in a murder case. Taking action on this matter, 3 policemen have been suspended.

Madhya Pradesh. The accused of murder in Morena committed suicide by hanging himself with a towel in the police station last night. The case is of Civil Lines police station. However, in this case, the police say that the accused was picked up from Ambedkar Colony tonight for questioning in a murder case. As soon as the news of this incident came, there was a stir in the police department. IG-DIG rank officers including Morena SP immediately reached the spot and tried to handle the matter. The SP has given instructions to immediately suspend three policemen including the station in-charge.
According to the report of Live Hindustan, Sunny alias Balkishan Jatav was a resident of Ganga Malanpur. He is accused of killing a youth a year ago in December 2023. In this case, the police had made Sunny and three other youths accused. After the case was registered, the accused kept changing their hideouts and evading the police. Tonight, Civil Lines police station in-charge Rambabu Yadav received information through an informer that the murder accused Sunny Jatav is hiding in Ambedkar Colony. On this information, the station in-charge immediately raided the spot and caught Sunny and the three other accused. The police arrested all the accused and locked them in the lockup.
When the policemen woke up on Sunday morning, Sunny’s body was hanging from the noose. The policemen immediately informed the station in-charge and other senior officers about this. As soon as the news was received, SP along with IG-DIG rank officers reached the spot. The officers immediately called the Judicial Magistrate’s team along with the FSL doctor to the spot. Before the matter gets worse, the SP has ordered to suspend three policemen including the TI.
On this incident, Bhim Army Sena’s district president Ranveer Jatav has alleged that three days ago the police picked up four boys including Sunny. At that time the police did not tell why they were being picked up. Today it has come to light that they were picked up for investigation of a murder case. He has alleged that the police tortured the boys a lot by locking them in the lockup. Troubled by the police torture, Sunny committed suicide by hanging himself.
On this matter, SP Sameer Saurabh says that tonight an accused in the murder case committed suicide inside the lockup. A magisterial inquiry is being conducted into this incident. Also, 3 people including the station in-charge have been suspended.
