In Madhya Pradesh, a Dalit youth accused the police of pouring petrol in his private parts, giving electric shock and urinating on him. The youth made this claim by releasing a video on social media. The police called the allegations false and cited CCTV footage, which did not show any such incident. Congress targeted the government over the matter and demanded a fair investigation.
MP: A sensational case has come to light from Boda police station area of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, where a youth named Deepak Malviya belonging to Scheduled Caste category has made serious allegations of inhuman atrocities against the police. Deepak released a video on social media and told that he was called to the police station and very disgusting acts were done with him. According to the youth, the police drowned him in a water tank, gave him electric shock, and beat him by pouring petrol in his private part. Not only this, he also alleged that a policeman named Shivraj Meena urinated on his mouth, due to which his clothes got wet. The youth said crying in the video that he had just gone to close his complaint on CM Helpline Complaint, but he was tortured like this. After this video surfaced, Congress has launched a scathing attack on the government. Congress said that this incident exposes the ground reality of atrocities on Dalits and is a symbol of the anti-Dalit attitude of the state government.
Police denial: Citing CCTV footage
Narsinghgarh SDOP Upendra Singh Bhati of Rajgarh district retorted to Deepak’s allegations and called the whole case baseless and false. He said that no such incident has taken place in Boda police station. He also said that there are 12-13 CCTV cameras installed in the police station, whose footage has been examined. Nowhere in these footages is there any confirmation of assault or inhuman treatment with Deepak. Bhati completely rejected the youth’s allegations and said that this case is completely fabricated. He said, “We have CCTV footage, which proves the truth. No such incident has taken place in the entire district.”
The statement of the youth and the video going viral
Deepak said in a video viral on social media that he is a resident of Jhar Pipaliya village and was made to sit in the police station from 12:30 pm to evening. In the evening, the policemen took him alone to a room and tortured him inhumanly. Deepak also said that he has kept his wet clothes safely, which can be presented as evidence of the incident. In the video, he shouted Jai Bhim slogan and appealed to the Dalit community for help.
Sharp attack by Congress
This matter has taken a political turn. Congress has put the BJP government in the dock and alleged that atrocities against Dalits are increasing in the state and the government has become completely insensitive. Congress also said that if strict action is not taken against the guilty policemen, it will be a proof of the anti-Dalit mentality of the government.
Public anger and questions
There is a wave of anger in the area after the youth’s allegations. People are discussing whether the police can really be so cruel, or is this case the result of some personal enmity. This video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, and the public has demanded a fair investigation into this matter from the government.
Truth or lie?
This case is now entangled between truth and lies. The police is giving its clarification on the basis of CCTV footage, while the youth is adamant on his statement. In such a situation, there is a need for a fair and independent investigation, so that the truth can be brought out and the culprits can be punished, whether it is the police or the youth making false allegations.
