Tehsil clerk beats Dalit woman with shoes in Bhind, MP, police registers case

Bhopal. An incident that shames humanity has come to light in Gohad tehsil of Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. Here a government clerk (babu) assaulted a Dalit woman and beat her with shoes. The woman had gone to the tehsil office for some government work, where she was mistreated.
55-year-old Deepa Jatav, a resident of Lodh Ki Pali village, had reached the Gohad tehsil office on Monday for some work related to government documents. The woman alleges that Babu Naval Kishore Gaur posted in the tehsil had earlier taken bribe in lieu of doing the work, but still did not complete her work. When the woman protested against this and inquired about her work, the Babu started abusing her.
When the situation worsened, Babu first slapped the woman and then took out his shoe and started beating her. The woman kept screaming, but other people present there remained spectators and no one tried to save her.
The woman suffered serious injuries during the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and admitted the injured woman to the hospital. According to doctors, the woman has suffered serious injuries on her face and body and is undergoing treatment.
The incident was revealed through the video
This whole matter came to light when a video of the incident went viral on social media. In the video, Babu can be seen attacking the woman with slaps and shoes. The administration came into action after the video surfaced.
Gohad SDM Parag Jain said that after watching the video of the incident, he informed the collector about it. Bhind Collector Sanjeev Srivastava suspended the accused Babu Naval Kishore Gaur with immediate effect. During the suspension, he has been attached to Andori Tehsil.
Police registered a case
The police have registered a case against the accused Babu under sections of assault. Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav has assured that the case will be thoroughly investigated in a fair manner and the culprit will be given strict punishment.
The victim Deepa Jatav says that she had given bribe to Naval Kishore Gaur for her government work, but the Babu neither did the work nor returned the money. When she asked him to do her work, the Babu used abusive language and then started beating her.
