The suspects are reportedly followers of former Jaiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Saiful Islam, also known as “Burma” Saiful.
The Detective Branch, or DB, of police, rescued the abductees on Saturday from a garden behind the Labour Welfare Centre near the Polytechnic Institute intersection under Panchlaish Police Station.

Among the arrested, Bashir has 10 cases against him. Emon faces eight, and the others are implicated in several, including theft and robbery.
The rescued individuals are Sameer Das, 45; Keshab Mitra Das, 43; and Rubel Rudra, 42.
Keshab is a priest, while Sameer and Rubel are shawl traders.
At a press conference at the city police office, Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Raish Uddin said the accused had abducted three individuals from the Hillview area at various times on Saturday.
They were confined to an under-construction building on Hillview Road No. 1, assaulted, and a ransom of Tk 0.9 million was demanded for their release.
Later, the victims were tied up and moved to the area behind the labour welfare centre, where they were confined once again.
Upon receiving information, a team of DB police conducted a raid at night, rescuing the victims and arresting four suspects. However, some others managed to escape during the operation.
Several sharp weapons and five motorcycles were seized.
Raish told bdnews24.com that Rubel was abducted from his laundry shop around 10:30am, while Sameer was taken around 2:30pm.
He said, “Many thought Rubel and Sameer were taken away by police.
“When they found out about them, their acquaintances asked Keshab to go to the police station.
“While on his way to Bayezid Bostami Police Station, the alleged individuals took him away in an auto-rickshaw from Hillview Road No. 1 around 4:45pm.
“People came forward hearing his screams but missed them. A raid was conducted after locals alerted police about the incident.”
