Bhopal. The construction work of the government primary school located in Malhati Tola of Gram Panchayat Akouna in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh is being obstructed. The miscreants have illegally occupied the government land and planted crops on it, due to which the construction work of the school building has stopped again. Sarpanch Shraddha Singh has written a letter to the Tehsildar and other concerned officials in this matter and demanded immediate action.
The primary school run in Gram Panchayat Akouna does not have its own building, due to which the children are forced to study in a private house. The government had sanctioned funds for the construction of a school building (additional room) and toilets. This construction work was to be done on the government land of the village Khasra number 711 (area 3.29 hectares), but some powerful people had occupied this land.
After the complaints were ignored for a long time, the administration reached the spot with the police force and freed the land from encroachment. After this, the construction work started, but due to rain the construction work had to be stopped for some time.
Then they occupied the school land and planted paddy crop on it
Now when the rainy season ended and the construction work was to be resumed, the Gram Panchayat team inspected the site. During this, it was found that the miscreants had once again occupied the entire government land and grown paddy crop there. Due to this, the work of the school building has been disrupted again.
Sarpanch demanded strict action
Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Shraddha-Anurag Singh has written a letter to the Tehsildar and has called obstruction in government work a serious crime. He demanded from the administration that the government land should be freed from encroachment immediately, the standing crop there should be confiscated and strict action should be taken against the culprits so that the construction work of the school building can be completed without any hindrance.
Speaking to The Mooknayak, Sarpanch Shraddha Singh said that strengthening the education infrastructure is her priority, but school construction is stalled due to illegal encroachment. She appealed to the administration for immediate intervention and said that if action is not taken in time, the educational future of the children will be affected.
Speaking to The Mooknayak , Tehsildar Sujeet Nagesh said that the encroachment was removed even a year ago, but despite this, no construction work has been done by the Panchayat till now. He clarified that there is no ban on construction, and if the Panchayat wants, it can do the construction. However, due to no initiative for a long time, the situation remains the same.
The villagers say that stopping the construction of the school building because of illegal occupants of government land is playing with the future of the children. If action is not taken soon, not only will the children’s education be affected, but the tendency to illegally occupy government property will increase further.
Ramnihor Kewat, a resident of Gram Panchayat Akouna, said that strict action should be taken against those who are obstructing the construction of the school building in his village and the construction work should be completed soon. He said that for years the school is being run in his kutcha house, but this situation is not conducive to the future of the children.
Ramnihor Kewat says that the construction of a school building in the village is very important as it will provide a proper environment for education to the children. He told The Mooknayak, “The school is very important for the future of our children, and any kind of hindrance in its construction is a violation of their rights.”
Other parents of the village have also demanded from the administration that priority should be given to school construction and action should be taken against those creating obstacles in it, so that children can get better educational facilities.
