Case filed over rape of girl in Gopalganj

A youth was sued on the charge of raping a six-year-old girl in Gopalganj on Tuesday.
The father of the girl filed the case with Kashiani Police Station.
The accused Akash Mollah, 18, is a resident of a village in Kashiani upazila.
According to the case, the child’s mother had gone to a nearby field, leaving her at home on March 20. At that time, Akash allegedly took the child to a nearby bush and raped her.
When the matter became known, some influential locals allegedly pressured the family not to take legal action.
Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiuddin Khan said, “Efforts are underway to arrest the accused.”
