UP: SDM threw out Dalit woman complainant from the office by calling her “rude” and “lower caste”, victim complained to State Women Commission and sought justice

The victim woman is a resident of Sakatpur village of Bhanpur tehsil, she was making rounds of the officials regarding the dispute of her land. She alleges that when she went to the office of SDM Bhanpur with her complaint on March 6, 2025, SDM Ashutosh Tiwari misbehaved with her.

Lucknow: A case has come to light against SDM Ashutosh Tiwari posted in Bhanpur tehsil of Basti district of Uttar Pradesh for using casteist words against a Dalit woman and misbehaving with her. When the victim went to the SDM with her complaint, the SDM allegedly humiliated her. The woman has demanded from the State Women’s Commission to register a case against PCS officer SDM Ashutosh Tiwari and remove him with immediate effect.
According to ABP News , this unruly officer of Basti district has brought shame to the entire department with his actions. This officer is accused of misbehaving with a woman who had come with a complaint, the echo of which has now reached Lucknow. Despite such serious allegations, the district officer has not taken any action in this matter till now.
On the other hand, SDM Ashutosh Tiwari of Bhanpur tehsil rejected all the allegations and said that if the allegations are proved, he will resign from his post. A Dalit woman has made serious allegations against SDM Ashutosh Tiwari of Bhanpur. The woman claims that the SDM not only used casteist words against her, but also pushed her out of the office.

The woman says that the SDM addressed her with words like “badtameez” and “chhoti jaati” and also threatened her.
The woman claims that if she does not withdraw her complaint, her land will be transferred to someone else’s name. The woman has also given her complaint to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Basti, but no action has been taken so far. On the contrary, the employees of Tehsil Bhanpur are constantly calling her and harassing her and pressuring her to withdraw the complaint.
The victim woman has demanded the State Women Commission to register a case against PCS officer SDM Ashutosh Tiwari and remove him with immediate effect. She has also pleaded for her safety. Regarding the entire matter, State Women Commission member Sunita Saini said that the victim woman will get justice and the culprit will be given the harshest punishment. We have taken the application given by the victim woman seriously and have written for investigation.
