Madhya Pradesh: Dalit youth beaten to death due to land dispute in Tikamgarh, Bhim Army protests

Land dispute took the life of a Dalit youth in Maindwara village of Tikamgarh district, police raids continue to arrest the accused.

New Delhi: A case of a Dalit youth being beaten to death over a land dispute has come to light in Maindwara village under Chandera police station area of Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Umesh Ahirwar. It is being told that Umesh was brutally beaten with sticks, due to which he died on the spot.
Tension spread in the area after the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and started investigating the case.
Three people of the village accused of murder
The deceased’s nephew Dhaniram Ahirwar has accused Dharampal Yadav and two other people of the same village of murder. The surprising thing is that the accused also reached the police station after the incident and tried to file a report on their behalf.
Bhim Army protested, demanded fair investigation
Bhim Army protested against the incident. The district president of the organization Sanju Chaudhary met the Superintendent of Police and demanded a fair investigation into the matter. He alleged that incidents of atrocities against the Dalit community are continuously increasing in Tikamgarh district.
Bhim Army has demanded security for the victim’s family and assured all possible help.
Murder case registered against three accused
Chandera police station in-charge Neetu Khatik informed that on the complaint of the deceased’s family, a case has been registered against the three accused under various sections including murder. At present, the police is conducting raids to arrest the accused.
