Man arrested over attempted molestation of minor girl inside Kapasia health complex
Husband files case; local MP assures exemplary punishment

A man was arrested in a case filed over the attempted molestation of a 15-year-old girl inside Kapasia Upazila Health Complex in Gazipur.
The arrestee has been identified as Md Mamun, 30, a resident of Raonat village in Kapasia upazila. He had been reportedly undergoing treatment at the health complex.
Dr Md Habibur Rahman, health and family planning officer of the health complex, told The Daily Star that Mamun attempted to molest a 15-year-old girl on Thursday night.
He said Mamun tried to molest a seven-year-old child on the next day when people rushed there, hearing her screams, and informed police.
Police rushed to the spot and took him to the police station, the official said.
Mamun was arrested after a complaint was filed by the husband of the first victim.
The mother of the 15-year-old girl said, “He took my daughter to the hospital corridor and made an indecent proposal. In the darkness of the night, he tried to force himself on her. Hearing her screams, I rushed there and rescued her. We have taken legal action regarding the incident.”
The same person has also been accused of attempting to molest a seven-year-old girl on Friday afternoon, the OC said, adding that no complaint has been filed in this regard.
He added that legal action will be taken if any complaint is filed.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Gazipur-4 (Kapasia), Salah Uddin, in a post on social media today, said, “The attempt to commit such a heinous act at Kapasia Upazila Health Complex is highly condemnable. Immediate legal action will be taken against the person involved, and exemplary punishment will be ensured.”
