Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has come to light from Agra district. A Dalit girl was forcibly abducted from her home in Gautam Nagar, under the Etmaddaula police station area. Following the emergence of a video of the incident, Nagina MP and National President of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), Chandrashekhar Azad, expressed strong outrage.
MP Chandrashekhar Azad shared a video of the incident on his Twitter handle on Thursday morning, questioning the UP police and government. He described the act as “extremely shameful, punishable, and alarming,” expressing serious concern about the law and order situation in the state.
The entire incident reportedly occurred around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, April 28th. The accused, Parvez, forcibly entered the house when only the daughters were present. He pressured the elder daughter to marry him and, when she refused, began brutally dragging her. The younger sister tried her best to save her, but the powerful accused forcibly dragged her out of the house and took her with him.
According to the victim’s mother, the accused, Parvez, had been harassing her daughter for the past year. He would molest her on the streets and exert undue pressure to marry her. On Tuesday afternoon, the accused arrived at the woman’s home with his mother and proposed marriage, which the family flatly rejected. In this frustration, he committed this horrific crime in the dark of night.
Chandrashekhar Azad described this incident as a major blow to the safety of Dalit women. In his statement, he clarified that this kind of trampling on the will and dignity of women is completely unacceptable in any civilized society.
In his post, Azad, tagging the UP government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, strongly demanded justice. He appealed for immediate prosecution of all the accused under the strictest possible sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He also demanded immediate police protection for the victim and her family.
The MP has demanded that the entire case be heard in a fast-track court so that the victim can receive justice as soon as possible. Azad warned the administration that if swift and strict action is not taken in such serious cases, the criminals will be emboldened. He appealed to the society and the administration to unite and send a strong message against such crimes.
