UP: Young woman raped in Etawah, beaten up for protesting, heard family members reaching home

An 18-year-old Dalit girl in Basrehar, Etawah, along with a village man, carried out the rape incident. The woman told that she was going home in the evening. On his way home, a young man from the village grabbed him from behind. On the woman’s screaming, the accused youth pressed her mouth and dragged her to a lonely house. Where he raped the young woman. He beat her up for protesting. The girl somehow got out of the clutches of the accused youth and returned home at three o’clock in the night and heard the family. Basrehar police station on Sunday registered a case of rape and SC-ST and took the accused youth into custody.
