Parsa’s Dalit candidates are in trouble after the Election Commission imposed fines

Parsa, 08 October : After the District Election Office Parsa imposed fines on the candidates of some parties after they did not disclose the expenses incurred in the last local level elections, the poor candidates among them are in trouble.
Lalbabu Ram Chamar, a resident of Patervasugauli rural municipality-4 in Parsa, who ran for the village headship with a corn stamp election symbol from the Nepal Sushasan Party, is worried after not being able to pay the fine. He said that according to the main principle of the party, he contested the election for selfless social service. He said that there was not much expenditure in the election, but he was worried after the election office imposed a fine.
He said that the Election Office fined him 350,000 when he did not have a farm and was making a living by working on other people’s farms. He responded that the fine should be waived.
Likewise, the Election Office has also imposed a fine of 150,000 on Premshil Adevi Ram Chamar, a Dalit quota candidate from UML for the post of Patervasugauli rural municipality-4 ward member. She said that she had a house in Ailani land and was living by working in other people’s fields in the morning and evening. She said that the party should pay this fine amount.
District Election Office Parsa said that according to the law and code of conduct related to elections, those who do not pay election expenses on time will be fined.
