Head constable Omprakash Yadav, who is investigating the case, told The Mooknayak that the body of Pappu Sahni (26) was seen floating towards the fish hook of the contractor at 10 am on Wednesday, February 8. After this, the body of Sitaram Sahani (60) was seen floating in the water on Thursday, February 9 at 6:30 am. While taking Sitaram’s body out of the water, the body of Vinod Sahni (52) was also seen at a distance in the water.
There was no money to take the dead body to the village, the police got the last rites done with public cooperation
Elderly Jai Narayan Sahni was shocked to see the dead body of his young son on Wednesday, 8 February. Other fellow laborers also shed tears. Despite the dead body of the son being in front, this father’s eyes were looking for something in the water of Bisalpur dam. Even till Wednesday evening, bodies of two companions of Pappu Sahni were found.
On the other hand, the police handed over the dead body to the relatives after the post-mortem. Now Jai Narayan did not even have the money to take his son’s dead body to village Rasalpur police station Patori district Samastipur (Bihar). In such a situation, the father wanted to perform the last rites of the son in Deoli itself, but the expenses of the last rites were also not in the pocket of this helpless father.
Talking to The Mooknayak , Head Constable Omprakash Yadav said that understanding the helplessness of the victim’s father, he apprised Circle Officer Suresh Kumar about the whole matter. After this, the police got Pappu Sahni’s last rites completed in Deoli itself with public cooperation.
When the news of father’s disappearance was received from the village, Laldev came from Udaipur.
Sitaram Sahni was fishing at Bisalpur in Tonk, while son Laldev Sahni in Udaipur. Laldev Sahni told The Mooknayak that on January 31, when he got the news of his father’s disappearance from the village, he moved here from Udaipur. Since then the police along with the administration and fellow fishermen were searching for the father and his companions. On Thursday morning, the dead body of father and his companion Vinod was found floating in the water. With the help of the police, both of them were cremated in Deoli itself. Laldev says that it was difficult to take the dead body of the father to the village. That’s why the last rites were performed here.
Who will be the guardian of the dependent minor children of the three?
Laldev says that Pappu’s wife and children, who lost their lives in the accident while fishing at the contractor’s place, are in the village. He has 6 children. The eldest daughter is 12 years old. The youngest son is one and a half years old. There is no one to take care of the family after Pappu. The contractor whose place he was taking care of the family by catching fish. There is no hope for him.
Sitaram also has two minor sons. There is no one to take care of minor sons. He himself and his adult brothers are living with their children. Vinod also has a wife and minor children. Who will be the guardian of their minor children and the widowed wives of the deceased. This is a great question.
5 to 10 rupees per kg wages
Laldev Sahni, who works as a fisherman, told The Mooknayak that he belongs to a Scheduled Caste. The people of the village and the family run the livelihood of the family by catching fish. In lieu of fishing, the contractor gives them wages ranging from Rs 5 to 10 per kg. In this work, with the risk of life, a person gets three to four hundred rupees after working hard for the whole day.
Laldev says that his father was also doing fishing work at Bisalpur dam in Tonk district. On the evening of 31 January, he was going back to the island with two of his companions. Strong winds were also blowing due to bad weather. Laldev has also expressed the apprehension of an accident due to the capsize of the boat.

All the three deceased had gone out in the evening to go back to the island on the boat. Due to the darkness, they lost their direction. Probably the boat capsized in the strong wind. All three knew how to swim, but could not find the shore in the dark, all three drowned. He said that it took time for the dead bodies to come up due to the cooling of the water. All three have been cremated with public cooperation.
For 10 days, along with three teams, more than two dozen fishermen were also searching
Since January 4, 4 divers of Deoli Police Station, 10 personnel of Ajmer SDRF and 6 divers of Tonk Civil Defense continued to rescue after the information about the disappearance of three people in Bisalpur Dam. The police also used drones to search the water, but did not get success. On February 8 and 9, the dead bodies floated up on their own. Then everyone heaved a sigh of relief. During this, more than two dozen fishermen were also searching for their loved ones day and night in the water of the dam with private boats.
