Lucknow. The dark deeds of the district administration and police have come to light in Amethi district of UP. Here, when a widow woman protested against taking possession of her land, the police registered a fake case against a Dalit leader and arrested him. In this case the civil judge has reprimanded the police.
In Shivratanganj police station area, the leased land of a widowed woman was being encroached upon by some people. On hearing the news of encroachment of the woman’s land, the Dalit leader reached the spot. The Dalit leader alleges that he was making a video of this act of the Tehsildar and the Accountant. During this time, Tehsildar and Lekhpal together snatched his mobile. It is alleged that both of them together also had a scuffle with him. In this case, when the Dalit leader complained in the police station, his case was not even registered. It is alleged that a false case was registered against him. When the Dalit leader got information about this, he was going to the SP office with the complaint. During this time he was arrested on the way. The police dramatized the matter and sent him to jail. When the matter reached the magistrate, the magistrate strongly reprimanded the police in this matter. At present the leader has got bail.
This is the entire matter of Shivratanganj police station area of Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh. Rajendra Bharti is a District Panchayat member in this area. Rajendra, while narrating the entire incident to The Mooknayak, says, “I got the information that Naib Tehsildar Tiloi Ashok Kumar and Accountant Surendra Kumar, by taking bribe, unconstitutionally transferred the leased land of Premavati Pasi, a widow woman of Kharagpur village, to Ramzan and Sakrul Nisha. They were measuring and taking possession of this land. A stay order was given on this land by Civil Judge Rae Bareli. After reaching the spot, they protested against the action against the court order.”
Bharti further explains, “When I got this information, I reached the spot. Both the officers got furious, calling the court order false. They started abusing me along with my mother and sister in caste based abuses. When I started making a video of it, my The mobile was snatched and broken. The Tehsildar’s home guard grabbed my collar and twisted my hand and broke two of my fingers. I had written a complaint about this at the police station. My case was not registered nor was my medical examination done. When the video of this incident went viral. When this happened, after a month a case was filed against me by the administrative authorities.”
Accusing the police station, the Dalit leader says, “SHO Shivratanganj Tanujpal Singh is unhappy with my work in the area. Due to this rivalry, a case was filed against me. When I was going to the SP office with the complaint, I was arrested on the way. Policemen also scuffled with me. I also have a video of this. I was sent to jail.”
According to the information received, the police had shown the arrest on February 17. A press note was also issued in this matter. According to the press note, “On 17-02-2024, Shatrohan Lal Verma, Police Station Shivratan Ganj, during checking of wanted care area and suspicious person, object, vehicle, case number 11/24 Section 147,332,353,504 IPC 2/3 Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, Police Station Shivratan. The wanted accused, Rajendra Bharti, son of Tejbahadur, resident of village Pendara, aged 28 years, was arrested in Ganj district, Amethi.
In this case, the policemen had presented the Dalit leader before the magistrate. The magistrate has reprimanded the policemen regarding the entire incident. Along with this, the bail of the Dalit leader has been approved.
