UP: Dead body of Dalit teenager found hanging from the roof in Lakhimpur Kheri, fear of murder after rape.
Police are investigating the matter. The incident is reminiscent of the Nighasan incident.

Lakhimpur. The case of dead bodies of Dalit sisters hanged on a tree after rape and murder in the year 2022 in Nighasan police station area of Lakhimpur district of UP had created a political uproar in the state. Now once again a similar case has come to light from the district. Last Monday morning, the dead body of a Dalit teenager was found hanging from the roof of the house in a village of Sharda Nagar police station area of Lakhimpur. The dead body was hanging with the help of a noose, the girl’s feet were touching the bed. Along with this, urine and blood were spread on the ground just below the dead body.
When this incident happened, the family members of the deceased had gone to a wedding ceremony. An old woman was present at the house. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. Here, the family members are alleging murder of the minor after gangrape. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the family members and started investigation.
The incident took place in a village under Sharda Nagar police station area. Village head Keshav Singh (changed name) told The Mooknayak – “The farmer in whose house this incident happened is very poor. There are two daughters and two sons in the house. The farmer’s wife and his mother live together. The family has more There is no land, about three bighas of raw land will be cultivated.

The village head told – “The girl’s parents had gone to the wedding of their brother-in-law’s daughter. The girl and her grandmother were alone at home. Both of them had dinner at night and slept. When the girl’s grandmother woke up in the morning, they Saw the girl’s body hanging from the roof. She started screaming after seeing the body. There was an uproar in the village and a crowd gathered. The people of the village informed me on the phone. Then I came to the spot.”
The village head says, ‘Looking at the dead body of the girl, it seemed as if something had gone wrong with her. There was blood and urine spread at the scene. I informed the police. Police sends dead body for post-mortem. The girl’s body was buried late this evening.”
In this case, the family members have accused her of murder and hanging the body after rape. SP Ganesh Prasad Saha, who reached the spot, in view of the seriousness of the matter, has formed a team under the leadership of Area Officer Sadar for quick disclosure of the incident. The post-mortem of the dead body was conducted by a panel of doctors. The SP told The Mooknayak that a case has been registered on the complaint of the family members. Is being investigated.
Nighasan incident remembered
On September 14, 2022, in Nighasan police station area of Lakhimpur district of UP, the accused had kidnapped both the Scheduled Caste sisters on a bike in front of their mother and after raping them, they were murdered. The accused had run away after hanging the body from a tree to make it look like suicide. The police had arrested all four accused during the encounter. Apart from Sunil alias Chhotu, all the other accused were from the village neighboring the deceased. Within 14 days of registering the case on September 15, the police had filed a charge sheet in the case on September 28. In the case, the ADJ POCSO court had given its verdict after a hearing that lasted for 10 months and 27 days. In the verdict, all four accused were found guilty.
