Posted on October 28, 2024 by Dalit Times

During a birthday celebration at a Dalit family’s house in Uttar Pradesh, four village bullies pelted stones, used abusive caste-related language and behaved indecently with women. The police have registered an FIR against the four accused and started investigation.

A very painful and shameful incident happened during a birthday celebration in the house of a Dalit family in Siniya Parataspur village of Bithri Chainpur police station area of Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday night, the Dalit family was celebrating the birthday of a child in their house. On this occasion, women were dancing happily to the tune of drums and everyone was participating in this small program. Meanwhile, four goons from the Kashyap community of the village reached the spot and started pelting stones using casteist derogatory words, in which many people were injured.

Women dancing to the tune of drums were targeted

At around 10 pm, when the women were dancing to the tune of dhol, Gantha, Sachin, Dharamvir and Rohit of Kashyap community barged in. The accused not only disrupted the program but also made lewd comments on the women and ruined their happiness. On protest, the accused became more rude and started using casteist abuses. Even after this, their anger did not cool down and they started pelting stones, which created chaos there. People who had come to the function started running here and there in fear, while women and children became frightened.

fled from the scene after threatening

After this horrific incident, the goons threatened to kill other members of the victim’s family and fled from the spot without any fear. The family members spent the whole night enduring this horrific scene. The next day, the victim’s family lodged a complaint against the accused at Bithri Chainpur police station. The police took the matter seriously and registered a case of caste atrocities and indecency with women against the four accused and now the investigation process is going on.

Tension increased in the village, demand for justice

After this incident, an atmosphere of tension has been created in the village. People of the Dalit community are angry and are demanding justice for this incident. Senior citizens and social workers of the village are also condemning this incident and expressing concern over the increasing cases of caste violence in the village. There is a demand for a fair investigation of the case by the police administration and strict action against the accused.

Strict action is needed against racial discrimination

This incident once again brings to light the reality of caste discrimination and atrocities against Dalits in society. The way a simple birthday celebration was turned into caste violence by miscreants has shocked not only the family but the entire community.
