MP: Woman found tied up on highway, husband and two accomplices accused of rape

Bhopal. A sensational incident came to light on the evening of 9th September on Sagar-Kanpur National Highway of Madhya Pradesh, when passersby saw a woman lying in suspicious condition near the railway bridge. The hands and legs of the woman were tied with rope and her condition was critical. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and the woman was taken to the district hospital. The statement given by the woman to the police after regaining consciousness made the whole case even more serious. The woman has alleged that her own husband along with his two friends raped her and later threw her on the side of the highway.
What is the matter?
In her statement to the police, the victim said that on September 9, her husband took her to the market. There, the husband fed her momos. The woman alleges that shortly after eating the momos, she started feeling dizzy and fainted. When she regained consciousness, she found herself tied up. The woman claimed that during this time her husband and his companions raped her forcefully.
The woman further said that the accused threatened her and then fled after leaving her on the side of the highway. Due to her hands and legs being tied and her unconscious state, she could not ask for help. The police were called only when passersby saw her condition.
When the woman regained consciousness after being brought to the district hospital, she created a lot of ruckus. She said that if the police did not take immediate action, she would commit suicide and the police administration would be fully responsible for it. After this warning, the police came into action and the woman’s complaint was registered.
Civil Lines police station in-charge Balmik Chaubey said that based on the statement of the victim, a case has been registered against her husband Laxmi Rajput and three others under rape and other sections. At present, the police is conducting raids in search of the accused. Considering the sensitivity of the case, the woman has also been medically examined, based on whose report further action will be taken.
According to the information, the woman was married to Lakshmi Rajput of Bijawar police station area in the year 2014. It is being told that this woman has lodged complaints in police stations many times before. Cases of rape and assault have been registered by the woman in Damoh, Badamalhara, Gulganj and Bijawar police stations.
According to police sources, the accused are currently being searched. Along with this, the medical examination of the woman and the veracity of her statement is being investigated. The record of the cases committed by the woman earlier is also being investigated so that the truth of the whole matter can be brought out.

According to the data of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the rate of crimes against women and minors is continuously increasing in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the NCRB report, 4,45,256 cases of crime against women were registered in 2022, which is an increase of 4% compared to 4,28,278 in 2021. At the same time, 1,62,449 cases of crime against children were registered, which shows an increase of 8.7% (1,49,404 cases) compared to 2021. Cases against children have also increased in Madhya Pradesh. According to the data, 758 crimes were registered against children in the capital Bhopal in the year 2022.
