Madhya Pradesh: What is the whole matter of demanding extortion money from the tribal MLA who came into limelight after riding 300 km bike to reach the assembly?
Medical store operator of Bajna town in Ratlam district filed a complaint against MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar, after the case was registered, five businessmen also accused him of taking money.

Bhopal. An FIR has been registered against Kamleshwar Dodiyar, the poorest tribal MLA of Madhya Pradesh, for demanding extortion money of Rs 1 crore. Since the matter came to light, five other businessmen have accused MLA Dodiyar of demanding money forcibly. Traders have demanded action from Ratlam Superintendent of Police in this matter.
Madhya Pradesh’s lone Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) traveling MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar is accused of trying to extort Rs 1 crore from a medical store owner. But the MLA has called these allegations a conspiracy. Let us tell you that after becoming MLA, Dodiyar reached Bhopal Assembly from Ratlam by bike. After which he remained in the news a lot. He gained fame in the state as the MLA with a bike.
Dodiyar had said in his political affidavit during the assembly elections that he was contesting the elections with only Rs 10,000, and later he had told that the Rs 12 lakh which were given to him as donations by the people of the society, was the same money. Contested elections from.
But now tribal MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar has been accused of extortion. After the complaint, FIR has also been registered against him. This series of allegations is now increasing.
What is the whole matter?
Tapan Rai, who runs a medical store in Bajna town of Ratlam district, had made a video viral. In which he alleged that on February 19, Sailana MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar had called him to his residence and demanded Rs 1 crore and also threatened him that if the demand is not met, he will not let him live in Bajna.
After this, the statement of MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar also came out. In which he released a video in his defense and said, “All the allegations are baseless and Tapan Rai himself came to me with Rs 20 lakh. He told me to let all the illegal businesses of mine run under the guise of a medical store. I had refused him and sent him back from there. And had said that if I give even one crore rupees, I will not let you do illegal business. I will not let anyone do illegal business in Bajna area.”
MLA Kamleshwar alleges that Tapan Rai does illegal business under the guise of a medical store and conducts abortions etc. and also runs an illegal clinic. He does not have a doctor’s degree. Whereas, complainant Tapan Rai had given a complaint application against the MLA in Ratlam SP office. After investigation, a case has been registered against Kamleshwar Dodiyar in Sailana police station.
According to the police, a case has been registered against MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar under sections 323, 294, 506, 327, 284 and 34 of the IPC. Apart from the MLA, the name of his representative Dashrath Dindor is also included in the FIR.
Approval received from Assembly Speaker
The Assembly Speaker has given approval for the arrest of the MLA. The MLA released the video calling the allegations baseless and accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government of a conspiracy. He also said that medical store operators have been doing illegal work for a long time.
Accused of taking Rs 16 lakh from businessmen
Cotton and gold and silver traders of Bajna have also lodged a complaint against MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar in Saravan police station for demanding money. It is alleged that by threatening the cotton traders of Sarwan, Sailana MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar has taken Rs 15 lakh at a time and Rs 1 lakh at a time, totaling Rs 16 lakh. In this, some people associated with the MLA are also being mentioned, against whom the complaint has been named.
Police investigation continues
SP Rahul Kumar Lodha said that till now a case has been registered against the Sailana MLA. Besides, another case has been registered against MLA representative Shiva Gehlot, who is the MLA’s representative. Two complaints have been made by the Gold and Silver Association and the Traders Association. By pressurizing the cotton traders to shift the market, a sum of Rs 15 lakh at a time and Rs 1 lakh at a time, totaling Rs 16 lakh, have been taken. An audio had gone viral on social media which is from before the elections, it is also being investigated.
Here, to know his side on the allegations against the MLA, The Mooknayak called and messaged MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar but did not get any reply.
These are the complaints against MLA Kamleshwar:
- Demanding one crore rupees from Bajna Medical Director Tapan Rai. An FIR has been registered in the matter at Sailana police station.
- MLA representative Shiva Gehlot pressurizing a homeopathic doctor of Sailana to pay Rs 5,000. A complaint was lodged at Sailana police station.
- The gold-silver association and cotton traders of Saravan area have filed separate complaints in Saravan police station. Police are investigating these complaints.
- A complaint has also been lodged regarding an audio related to the MLA surfacing on social media before the assembly elections. Police is also investigating this.
