Teenage girl out to defecate set on fire in UP village

BALRAMPUR: A 13-year-old Dalit girl lost her life after being burned in a village under the jurisdiction of Haraiya Police Station, as reported by an officer on Saturday. The girl had gone to a nearby field to defecate on Friday evening, and the circumstances surrounding her being set on fire remain unclear to the police.
According to ASP Yogesh Kumar, when the girl did not return home for an hour after leaving for the field, her family members began searching for her.
During their search, some villagers informed them about a fire that had broken out in a nearby field. Upon reaching the location, they discovered the lifeless body of the girl.
The ASP stated that the girl’s charred remains were sent for post mortem examination, and the police are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause and motive behind the tragedy.
