A Dalit woman Sarpanch in Satna, Madhya Pradesh was not given a chair to sit in the Gram Sabha by the oppressive caste secretary and deputy sarpanch. When she asked for a chair, she was told: “Bring a chair from home, otherwise sit on the floor.”
