Bareilly – Police have solved the mystery of the death of an unidentified girl, who was found in bushes along the Sampurnanagar road in Majhgai area of Kheri district on Saturday evening.
The girl has been identified as a 20-year-old Dalit girl from a village in Majhgai police station area. A cannula was found in one of the hands of the dead body, which made it clear that she had been treated in a hospital recently.
Police investigation revealed that the girl had a love affair with Sarvesh Yadav (26) from the same village and had become pregnant. Sarvesh took her to a private clinic for abortion, but the procedure was done incorrectly resulting in the girl’s death.
Circle Officer (CO) Yadvendra Yadav said, “Based on CCTV footage and technical evidence, all the accused have been arrested. On the complaint of the deceased’s brother, a case has been registered against the accused under sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, illegal abortion and SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act.”
Investigation revealed that quack doctor Neeraj Chaurasia, a resident of Naugwan, called the girl to his clinic, where Sarvesh was already present. Nurse Sonam Sahni, working in the clinic, tried to abort the girl by giving her wrong medicines and injections. When the girl’s condition worsened, Sonam, along with her husband Vikas (Vicky) Sahni, took her to their home and started treating her secretly.
When her condition worsened, the girl was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared her dead. After this, instead of informing the family or the police, the accused threw her body in the bushes.
In this case, the police have arrested Sarvesh Yadav, Dr. Neeraj Chaurasia, nurse Sonam Sahni and her husband Vicky Sahni and sent them to jail.
