UP: Dalit minor girl raped in Sonbhadra, accused arrested
The victim’s family also received threats not to take the matter to the police. But after the intervention of a social worker, the case could be registered.

Lucknow: A case of rape of a Dalit minor girl has come to light in Ward 4 of Renukut Nagar Panchayat in Sonbhadra district of UP. The police have arrested the accused youth.
According to Dainik Bhaskar ‘s report, the 11-year-old victim was being harassed by a neighbourhood youth named Manjar Khan for several days. On Wednesday, some boys saw Manjar taking the girl to a room. They immediately informed the girl’s family.
The victim’s aunt reached the spot and knocked on the door. The accused refused to open the door. When the aunt forcefully opened the door, both of them were found naked inside. The family immediately informed the police on 112.
Meanwhile, the family also received threats not to take the matter to the police. With the help of social worker Vijay Pratap Singh, the matter reached the police. The police registered a case the same night and arrested the accused.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said that a case has been registered under various sections. The victim was taken for medical examination on Thursday morning. The police is engaged in further action.
