Man held over alleged rape of a woman and her niece in Jashore
Accused arrested during a late-night police operation

A young man has been detained by police on allegations of raping a woman and her niece after entering a house in the Chanchra Magurpatti area of Jashore early today.
The accused, identified as Rocky, 30, from the Chanchra Dal Mill area, was arrested during a late-night police operation.
According to police and the victims’ family members, the incident occurred around 1:30am when the woman and her teenage niece were asleep in a room. The woman’s husband was away from home at the time.
The suspect allegedly entered the house, raped the woman, and threatened her. He also allegedly raped her teenage niece, according to the family’s account.
After the suspect left, the woman informed her husband, and the family went to Jashore Kotwali Police Station to lodge a complaint. Following the complaint, police conducted a raid and detained the suspect.
Confirming the arrest, Masud Khan, officer-in-charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, said, “The two victims are being sent for medical examinations. The victim’s husband has filed a case this afternoon.”
