The day before yesterday afternoon a police officer and newly appointed Thanedar along with 12-15 jawans of Uttar Pradesh Police reached Rikkhipurwa village of Hargaon police station area of Sitapur district and they threatened the people of the entire village by gathering them in the government school located near Ambedkar Park that if any If you do the program, the result will not be good. Addressing the village head Vimla and the Dalit villagers, the police officer said that you should not go to the program on September 9 and cancel the program after asking your people.
In response, when the village head Vimla told the police officer that the program is of the party CPI (ML), not ours. So on this matter the police officer showed his police attitude and said then okay you guys don’t go to the program. The new SHO of Thana Hargaon and another police officer said in a threatening tone to the villagers that the video recording of the program going to be held on 9th will be done by our people. And then after identifying each person in the video, an FIR will be registered against them and sent to jail.
District Panchayat member Arjun Lal’s spouse and Aipwa leader Sarojini says that the day after her uncle had passed away, she had gone to her maternal home, she was not in her village Rikkhipurwa. The villagers told them that the police had come with a team of 12-15 people under the leadership of the new SHO of Hargaon police station and threatened that if any person from the village went to the program, it would not be well.
After yesterday’s threat from the police, the people of the village are so scared that they are not even ready to speak. People have told Jan Chowk on the condition of anonymity that the police of Hargaon police station is keeping an eye on CPI(ML) workers and leaders. They are calling each and every worker to the police station for questioning, it is feared that on September 8, just before the program of September 9, those people may be put under house arrest, or picked up and taken to the police station.
Lathi charge on villagers on August 14, 9 arrested in fake case
Let us inform that since July, caste and administrative attacks are taking place in Rikkhipurwa village. The female head of Rikkhipurwa village was thrashed by the Thakurs of the neighboring village because they had removed the feudalists who had illegally occupied the land of the village society to build a gaushala under the scheme of the Yogi Sarkar. When Vimala Devi and the people of the village went to register the FIR, on August 14, the Thanedar lathi-charged the villagers and arrested dozens of Dalit villagers and put them in the police station.
When Arjun Lal, District Panchayat member and CPI(ML) Standing Committee member went to Hargaon police station to get bail for the people of his village, the station in-charge Brijesh Tripathi not only assaulted him but also sent him to jail on August 15 by making a false case. And the Dabangs who beat the Pradhan are roaming freely. When Aipwa leader Sarojini went to the police station with women in support of Arjunlal, the station in-charge snatched the national flag from her hand and said that you are not fit to hold this flag.
On August 18, the people of the Dabang caste of the neighboring village broke the head of Ambedkar idol.
Since the incident of August 14, a policeman of police station Hargaon was outside the house of village head Vimla round the clock night and day. Whether he was sitting under house arrest or was posted in security is not known. But in his presence in the village, on the night of 18 August, Ambedkar’s statue located in the Ambedkar Park, located about 300 meters away from the village head’s house, was thrown on the ground after separating his head. The next morning when the villagers gathered and demanded action against the domineering Thakurs of the neighboring village who had run and killed the villagers including village head Vimla on August 13-14, hundreds of police from three to four police stations, including Hargaon police station, reached the village. The administration got a new idol of Baba Saheb installed in a hurry and filed an FIR against unknown people. But no action was taken against anyone in this case.
