Bodies of 3 missing girls found in Jhansi dam

Mystery shrouds the death of three girls, including two sisters, whose bodies were found in the Kurecha dam (Saparar dam) in Mauranipur tehsil of Jhansi late Saturday evening. The cops sent the bodies for autopsy and started the investigation.
Speaking to reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh S said that after the first body of a woman aged around 25 years was fished out, two more bodies were recovered and the victims appeared to be aged between 18 and 20.
The SSP said that no injury marks were visible on the bodies.
“It is likely that they were swept away from Tikamgarh district,” he said.
Reports said that the employees of the Irrigation department posted at the dam saw the body of a girl in the dam. On receiving information, the police reached the spot and brought out the body from the dam and sent it to hospital for autopsy. The cops were called again and informed about bodies of two more girls spotted at some distance in the dam.
The three deceased girls were identified as 28-year-old Reenu Purwar, 30-year-old Ritu Purwar and 26-year-old Rinki Arya. Reenu and Ritu were real sisters, while Rinki was their friend. Reenu and Ritu were residents of Katra locality of Mauranipur and Rinki of Alai locality. Ritu was married.
Govind Das, father of Rinki said that his daughter got a call from two girls on Friday evening after which she left the house with them. He said when Rinki did not come back home, they tried to contact both the sisters but their phone was switched off.
When Das contacted the family of the two sisters, he was told that they were also missing. On Saturday night, the girls’ brother informed them about the incident. Ashish, brother of both the deceased sisters, claimed that his sisters used to visit Bageshwar Dam every Friday evening but this time they did not return home and on Saturday evening the family got the shocking news of their death.

Meanwhile in Sultanpur, an engineering student was allegedly raped in a moving car and thrown near a canal in Jaisinghpur area, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the incident took place on Friday evening when the 23-year-old BTech student flagged an SUV for lift to go back home. The driver allegedly raped her inside the car and threw her near a canal and fled.
The girl told her family about the incident when she reached home.
Circle Officer of Jaisinghpur, Prashant Singh, said that they had received a complaint and a probe was on in the case and the FIR would be registered after preliminary investigation.
In another incident in Amethi, a 15-year-old minor Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a man in a village in Jamo area, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place on October 3 when the man looking after music arrangements in a Durga puja pandal, raped her in the field when she went to attend nature’s call, police said.
Station House Officer of Jamo, Akhilesh Gutpa, said an FIR had been registered under Indian Penal Code Section 376 (rape), Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He said the accused identified as Monu had been arrested.
