Rajasthan: Farm owner Dalit man murdered for excusing him for breaking the agreement to dig soil from the farm

In Rajasthan’s Alwar district, when the Dalit man objected to breaking the terms of the agreement of digging soil from the field and asked for money for additional digging, he was brutally murdered. The body was hung from a tree to make the crime appear as a suicide. The incident is of 23 October, but even after 9 days of the incident, the accused were not arrested, due to which there is anger among the family members and the villagers.

The Mooknayak was told by Bablu Jatav, resident of Bahtukala police station area of Alwar district that his father Mohar Singh Jatav had tied up with Balveer Singh Gurjar resident Lathki and Neeraj Jatav resident Baseth to lift soil from his farm. In lieu of lifting the soil from the Khatadari field between the two parties, it was decided to pay Rs 150 as a trolley.

Along with this, it was also agreed that both the accused will dig the soil in the field at a depth of two feet and will dig the soil leaving 5 feet space from the ridge of the field. The accused broke the agreement and took away the soil from 5 to 6 feet depth. When the father of the petitioner asked for money for digging the soil outside the conditions, the accused killed him and hanged the body from the tree to pretend that he was a suicide. The body of the applicant’s father was hanging from the tree, but the feet were resting on the ground till the knees. There were injury marks all over the body. In connection with the incident, Bablu Jatav has registered a case of murder in Bahtukala police station, naming Balveer and Neeraj. On October 23, the police registered a case and handed over the investigation to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sharma, but still the accused have not been arrested.

Dalit Rights Center organization also constituted an investigation team
The Dalit Adhikar Kendra organization has constituted its own separate 4-member investigation team in the Baseth murder case. This investigation team is conducting a fair investigation after reaching Baseth, the village of the deceased Mohar Singh. Dalit Rights Center Director Advocate Satish Kumar, Chief Executive Advocate Hemant Mimroth, District Coordinator Shailesh Gautam and social activist Jairam Bairwa are investigating the case.

He said that the investigation is almost complete. Our organization will hand over the factual report to the top officials of the police and administration. Initially the negligence of the police is coming to the fore in the whole matter. Gautam tells that the police is still hanging the whole matter in the name of investigation. Apart from the accused named in the investigation, the names of other people are also coming out.
Mohar Singh Jatav was about to go to the Panches
After reneging on the agreement of Balveer and Neeraj, Mohar Singh was about to convene a meeting of the Panch Patels of the village for justice. Bablu, the son of the deceased, told that when the accused came to know about the meeting of the Panches, they called the applicant’s father to the farm on the pretext of giving money on the morning of 23 October. Even after a long time, when his father did not return home, the applicant went to the farm. The body of the applicant’s father was hanging facing the tree standing in the middle of the field. The neck was tied with thin jewelry (rope). Feet were on the ground. There were injury marks on other parts of the body including head and legs. Balveer and Neeraj have killed the father of the applicant.
This is also the demand
The Dalit Adhikar Kendra, along with a high-level inquiry into the said case, made immediate arrest of the accused, videographed and recorded the entire episode while conducting police investigation, to get financial compensation without delay, to give monthly pension of five thousand rupees to the deceased dependents. To provide employment to the family members and submit the challan after completing the investigation within 60 days and to take legal action under section 4 against the public servant who was negligent in the matter, to get the farm of the victim family corrected and to provide police protection to the victim’s family, relief And has demanded to provide food items for 3 months.
The investigating officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sharma told The Mooknayak that both the named accused have not been caught yet. We are looking for them through our sources. There is no trace of both the accused since the incident. Efforts are being made to arrest them even at the technical level.
