In Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon, hookah-water has been stopped along with the family of a Dalit couple who got married for love. The relatives have accused a dozen people of the village of bullying them. On Thursday, the family members of the newlyweds pleaded for justice regarding their condition in the Press Club.
Actually, Saroj Damle, a resident of Bakhrutola, has married a girl from the village itself. After this, some villagers made it difficult for the couple and their family to live. It is alleged that the newly married couple is being harassed. He is insulted by calling a meeting in the village. Along with this, it has been refused to give food and drink to the shopkeeper of the village.
Casteist abuses village bullies
Paragabai, the mother of the victim’s youth, told that Devsagar Gupta, Charan Sahu, Bhishan Sahu, Kishore Sahu, Bhupendra Sahu and other people of the village have harassed her a lot. While bullying his son, these people used casteist abuses and also assaulted him. His son and daughter-in-law are forced to live outside the village in the city.
Police accused of not taking action
The victim’s mother also alleges that the powerful people of the village are associated with the BJP. Because of this they are bullying and creating terror. Complaints have also been made to the police many times in this matter. But, due to political pressure, instead of taking action, the police is reprimanding them. The relatives of the victims say that now they are pleading for justice from the government itself. They want quick justice.
