MP: Dalit woman tied with a rope and beaten for two hours, video viral


Madhya Pradesh. An elderly Dalit woman was tied with a rope and beaten for two hours for not selling her house in Hirapur village of Sanavad area of Khargone district of MP. Its video is going viral on social media. After the video went viral, the police have registered a case under serious sections of the SC/ST Act. Police is probing the incident. The victim says that the accused do not want to let her live in the neighborhood because she is a Dalit.

Hirapur village falls under Sanavad police station area of Khargone in MP. Suman lives in this village. According to Suman, on February 3, 2023, Ganesh Yadav, his wife and mother, living in the neighborhood together, abused him, later barged into the house, tied his hands and legs and assaulted him.

Raju Kanade, a relative of the Dalit woman, said, “Ganesh Yadav and his family live in the neighborhood of Suman Baii. He wants to buy their house forcibly. On Friday, Ganesh and his family had a fight with Suman Baii. Later Suman By tying Bai’s hands and legs, he was beaten badly.
The accused often used to threaten
Suman Baii’s son Vijay said, “All the accused keep threatening often. The accused say they will not allow their family to live in their neighborhood because we are Dalits and they are Yadavs.”
Vijay further said, “We reported this at the Sanawad police station, but we did not get justice from there, so we came to Khargone to meet the superintendent of police.”
The victim woman alleges, “The accused used casteist words and insulted me. They say that Dalits should not live in the neighborhood. I live alone in my house. Ganesh Yadav and his wife and mother beat me up. They tied my hands and feet and kept beating me. My hands remained tied for three hours. When the police arrived, they untied my hands. My condition worsened due to the beating. My relatives brought me to senses by giving me water. “
