Ashokpur village falls in Nawabganj of Gonda in UP. Khemipur Majra comes in this village. In this Majra, many Dalit families were living on the land of the village society for decades. On the other hand, the complaint of illegal encroachment on the land of these village societies was made by Ranvijay Singh of the village itself. Acting on which, on February 7, the revenue team under the leadership of Tehsildar Pushkar Mishra reached the village. When the people encroaching on the government land were asked to remove the goods, women and youth started protesting.

The women of Khemipur village including Vimla wife Ramesh, Sunita wife Chhatthiram, Sommari wife Satyanarayan, Kalavati wife Jhinnu, Kusuma wife Ramnath said that the land belongs to the Harijan population. They have been occupying this land for all these years. Whose case is also going on in the court of Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) Gonda.

Here, Lekhpal Gaurav Gandhi told that the disputed land is new fallow and village society land, on which people have encroached.

Seeing the protests of the Dalits, the Tehsildar informed the sub-collector Tarabganj Shatrughan Pathak and additional force at Wazirganj and Motiganj police stations. Encroachment started being removed from JCB. The villagers allege that the team which came to remove the encroachment without giving any notice, misbehaved with the women. During this, the administration team set fire to thatch and other items. In no time, the fire engulfed many thatches. After getting the information, the police force from Motiganj and Wazirganj police station reached the spot. The debate between the Dalits and the officers went on for about two hours. Meanwhile, the bulldozer of the administration continued on the encroachment. Regarding the disputed land, SDM Tarabganj gave instructions to vacate all around the government land and erect pillars and install wires. Ordered to take legal action against the nuisance people.
