11 people injured in the ruckus in Khargone
Mahashivratri was celebrated with great pomp across the country on 18 February. But, disputes started in Khandwa and Khargone districts on the occasion of Mahashivratri as well. Due to which the debate between the two sides increased so much that many people were seriously injured.
It may be mentioned that the case pertains to Chhapra village in Kasrawad area of Khargone district where casteists stopped Dalits from entering the Shiva temple. After which ruckus started in both the sides and in no time a situation of fighting was created. Due to which 11 people were injured. The police have registered a case against 50 people from both sides in the case.
On the matter, police officer Vinod Dixit said that on Saturday the Dalit was stopped from entering the Shiva temple, after which there was a dispute between the two parties. There was heavy stone pelting from both the sides. On behalf of the Dalit side, Premlal has filed a complaint in the matter. In his complaint, Premlal said that Bhaiya Lal Patel stopped the Dalit girl from entering the temple, after which a dispute arose. Police have registered a case against 25 unknown people along with 17 accused in this case. On the other hand, on the complaint of Ravindra Nath, a case has been registered against 33 people including Premlal. At present the police is investigating the matter.
Uproar in Kasrawad too
In Kasrawad village, Dalits were stopped from worshiping in the temple on the day of Shivratri. According to a viral video, the casteist people threw the incense sticks lit by the Dalits out of the temple, and not only that, but threw their worship plates and threw them out of the temple. Dalit women allege that the casteists humiliated them by hurling casteist slurs.

, while in Khandwa district also there was a ruckus in the temple on the day of Shivratri. The case is of Belwadi in Bharathi gram panchayat of Harsud where Dalits were prevented from entering and worshiping in the Shiva temple.
Let us tell you that a Dalit youth was going to offer water to the Shiva temple, while some casteist goons stopped him. When the dispute escalated after stopping the Dalit youth, the police intervened in the matter. According to the information, the priest of the temple had stopped the Dalit youth from performing Jalabhishek. As soon as the information about the matter was received, the police reached the spot and handled the situation, after which the priest got the Dalit youth to perform water anointing.
