Bhopal. An MLA of Sheopur district was threatened by a Dalit woman SI. It is alleged that the MLA had abused the woman SI on the phone to get rid of his worker’s car. The ACI lodged a complaint against Congress MLA Babu Jandel at the Ajak police station, after which a case has been registered against the MLA under several other sections including the Atrocity Act. Female sub-inspector Madhavi Singh Shakya alleges that the MLA abused her over the phone. Whose audio is also going viral on social media. After this the police took action against the MLA.
What is the whole matter?
The case pertains to Manpur police station in Sheopur district. During vehicle checking here on Friday late evening, the police stopped a bike rider for driving without wearing a helmet. The bike rider was a supporter of Congress MLA Jandel, so instead of paying the fine, he left the vehicle on the spot. A few hours later, by adding MLA Jandel to the conference on mobile phone, the lady sub-inspector Madhavi Singh Shakya, posted at Manpur police station, made him talk to the MLA. That’s why the MLA started threatening the woman sub-inspector to talk to the SP about this matter and to put the matter in the assembly, saying that she had unnecessarily harassed the person concerned. When the phone conversation did not go to the MLA’s liking, the MLA lost his temper and started abusing the woman sub-inspector.
FIR on MLA after audio went viral
In the viral audio, the lady inspector is heard saying on the phone that she had to leave the vehicle in the morning as it was late at night. She was telling all the things to the MLA with decency, yet the MLA has abused her like this. Regarding which now the woman sub-inspector has lodged an FIR against the MLA.
Talking to The Mooknayak in this matter, woman sub-inspector Madhavi Singh told that she was checking vehicles in her police station area. At the same time, the driver without helmet stopped the vehicle without getting the challan deducted and left the vehicle. Later got a call from MLA Babu Jandel. I tried to explain to him but he did not listen. “The MLA also threatened to talk to the SP and see him in the assembly. After that he started abusing. The MLA unnecessarily abused. The MLA knew that I belong to the SC category. I filed a complaint against the MLA at the Sheopur Ajak police station. An FIR has been lodged under various sections including atrocity,” said Madhavi.
On the other hand, Sheopur SP Alok Kumar Singh says that after the audio surfaced, he spoke to the woman sub-inspector. After the confirmation of the incident, an FIR has been lodged in the police station on behalf of the woman sub-inspector. If needed, warrant will also be issued against the MLA. At present, the MLA has not been arrested.
The Mooknayak called Congress MLA Babu Jandel to know his stand in this matter, but he did not attend the call.
The audio of MLA Babu Jandel has gone viral on social media. In it, apart from abusing the woman sub-inspector, he is also heard saying, “I know TI Kushwaha is also Narendra Singh Tomar’s man. He will get me shot.”
Audio of threat to farmers also went viral
Congress MLA from Sheopur Babulal Jandel in another audio went viral in 2019, in which the MLA was allegedly threatening a farmer. The farmer was threatened to get Rasuka’s action taken. The farmer accused the MLA of not working in the field, following which the MLA allegedly abused him, the audio of which went viral on social media. Later, in his clarification, MLA Jandel said that the audio was not his.
When Babu Jandel tore the kurta in the assembly
During the year 2021 monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Jandel tore his kurta in the assembly premises as soon as he came out of the house. Babulal Jandel came into the limelight after this. At that time, Jandel said that he tore his kurta in protest against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government not providing immediate relief to the victims of the severe floods in his constituency.
