Lucknow. The law and order situation in UP is serious. After the murder of criminals in police custody, now the case of beating up the policeman itself has come to the fore. In Barabanki’s Deva area, a Scheduled Caste policeman was thrashed by other people along with the chief, due to which the sub-inspector was seriously injured. When passers-by saw this, the accused fled away. The constable somehow ran away after saving his life and informed the fellow policemen. On the complaint of the sub-inspector, the police have registered a case under the SC/ST Act, including murderous assault, obstruction in government work, against an unknown person including 7 named. Inspector is undergoing treatment at Deva CHC.

The incident is of 30 April 2023. Shashikant Singh is posted as sub-inspector in Deva police station. Shashikant told- ” My posting is on the post of Mati Chowki in-charge. I was going to the post from my car on 30th April 2023 at around 2.14 pm. During this Faisal, a resident of Sipahiya village, suddenly came in front of the vehicle. I stopped the vehicle. Saved his life. I got down from the car and started questioning him. I was only asking him the reason for doing this. Meanwhile, the family members of the young man who came from behind started fighting.” Police reached the information and detained seven people I have taken The inspector has been sent to CHC Deva for treatment.

According to the information, Jalil Ahmed, the current head of the constable, had a dispute with his son Faisal, due to which angry Faisal suddenly stood in front of the car of Mati Chowki incharge Shashikant returning from guest house checking in Deva town on Deva Chinhat road with the intention of committing suicide. Done. On which the outpost in-charge started reprimanding the young man by applying brakes. By then his father Jalil Ahmed and former block head Jameel Ahmed, Anas, Azam, Satish, Alam and others also reached the spot and started misbehaving with the inspector. After this, he attacked the outpost in-charge and started beating him by strangulation and beat him fiercely with kicks and punches. On information, In-charge Inspector Deva Pankaj Kumar Singh reached the spot with heavy police force and sent the outpost incharge to CHC Deva for immediate treatment. The police have detained village head Sepahia Jalil Ahmed, former block head Deva Jameel Ahmed, Anas, Azam, Satish and Alam from the spot.

In this case, the station in-charge said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the sub-inspector. 7 accused have been arrested. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining unknown people.
