Uttar Pradesh: Dalit minor girl gang-raped after murder, accused of hanging her body

Lucknow. In UP’s Sitapur, a minor girl from Dalit community is accused of murder after gangrape. However, the dead body of the girl was found hanging from a noose at her house in suspicious condition. In this case, a case has been registered against three named youths on the complaint of the victim’s father. The police arrested all the three accused and sent them to jail.

The victim’s father, a resident of a village in Tambore area of Sitapur, UP, lodged a complaint on June 9, 2023 (Friday). The dead body of the girl was found hanging on the noose in the house. According to the complaint of the victim, the age of the deceased is 16 years. The father told that Alam, Kaif and Aqib, residents of Pathanpurwa, gang-raped his daughter in turn. It is alleged that on the same day the three together killed the victim by hanging and did not allow her father to go to the police station. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem.
The next day the father of the deceased somehow reached the police station and lodged his complaint. Police have registered a case against Alam, Aaqib and Kaif under IPC sections 341, 376 DA, 302, SC/ST Act and POCSO Act. All the three accused have been arrested by the police and sent to jail.
Rape victim has already hanged
In Fakharpur, Bahraich, the daughter of a backward community committed suicide after not getting justice. The victim had complained on May 20 and May 28. There is an allegation on the police that instead of taking action, the police was pressurizing the girl’s father for reconciliation. The accused was also continuously threatening for reconciliation by going home. The victim committed suicide on June 2, 2023 when she came to know that her father had agreed for reconciliation.
