Lucknow. More than 40 Dalit community people from Lakhimpur Kheri in UP had reached the capital on Monday morning to plead for justice from CM Yogi. Dalits allege that the regional police station is harassing them. It is alleged that on June 12, the Thanedar sent the force and got people beaten up and houses ransacked. At the same time, a case has been registered against more than 38 people from the victims’ side.

Kandhaipur village is in Mailani area of Lakhimpur Kheri, UP. Dulichand lives in this village. Dulichand belongs to the scheduled society. Dulichand said, “My son Brijesh Pasi was a driver by profession. On May 9, 2023, due to old enmity, Ram Singh, Suresh Singh and Rekha along with others killed him and hanged the body. When I came to know about this, I went to the spot. And informed the police.”
Dulichand says, “The police did not take any action in this matter for two days. When hundreds of people from our community gheraoed the police station, the police registered a case on May 12, but did not arrest the accused. All the accused are absconding. they were finished.”

It is alleged that on the night of June 12, the police came to the village with the accused. Due to which the people made the video, the angry police started beating the people. When the people opposed this, a heavy police force was called and the villagers were beaten up. A case was registered against about 38 people in this case. Police challaned 16 people. Fearing the police case, people did not go to the village after 12th June. On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of Dalit families left for Lucknow by train to complain to CM Yogi. There was a stir in the police department as soon as the news of hundreds of Dalit families going to Lucknow was received. Police dropped most of the people at Gola station.
Sushila Devi, a resident of the village, says, “The police did not take action against the accused. On the contrary, we women were dragged and beaten by hair. A false case was filed against us. We have not gone to the village since June 12. are deserted. Our animals are dying of hunger.”
According to the information, in this case, CO Gola took immediate action on the police station and brought the line to the spot. Due to which he committed suicide in the house of the accused. Normal hanging has come in the post-mortem.” On the basis of the report, it has been confirmed that the young man committed suicide. No incident has been found to have caused it. On June 12, the opposition had come to stay at their house. Taking action, the police have registered a case against about 32. In this case, 16 people have been challaned. Station in-charge Mailani Rahul Singh was being accused of getting beaten up by the villagers. Considering him prima facie guilty, the line has been presented.”
