A Dalit youth of Hasanpur Korari village under Tharavai police station area of Prayagraj Police Commissionerate was beaten up by some people while he was taking bath in the river. When the family members who came to know tried to save him, the family members were also beaten up. The Tharavai police, which initially tried to suppress the incident, became active after a video of the scuffle went viral on social media. Along with this, the victim also accused the police of not taking action. After which the Tharavai police registered an FIR against 4 people on the evening of 19th August for assault, abusing and under the SC/ST Act.
The bullies left after threatening to kill
Shiva Bhartiya’s son Ashok Kumar Bhartiya, a resident of Hasanpur Korari village in Tharwai police station area of Ganganagar, had gone to bathe in the river outside the Bhartiya village. It is alleged that Prabhakar Yadav residents Katiyahi, Tharavai, Bhanu Yadav, Uday Raj Yadav and Rohit started beating him while he was taking bath in the river. When his uncle and the boys of the family reached, they were also beaten with sticks. Was abused with caste indicator words. After that the bullies left threatening to kill.
The video of this incident was made by the people standing there. It is alleged that the police was informed. But at that time the police chased away the aggrieved party from the police station. In this regard, on August 19, the video of the fight went viral on social media. Tharavai police was accused of not taking action against Dabangg. Thereafter, Tharavai police registered an FIR against the four accused under sections 323, 504, 506 IPC and SC/ST Act.
Police Station President Lokendra Tripathi says that a case has been registered against the accused. The search for the accused is on.
