Dalit brother and sister beaten up thinking they were a couple

New Delhi. Many incidents of harassment of Dalits and women have been reported in the last 24 hours. Prominent among these is the case of murder of a Dalit former head in Hardoi district of UP. Similarly, in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, a Dalit brother and sister were beaten up allegedly by Bajrang Dal workers, mistaking them for a couple. In all the cases, the police have registered FIRs and started investigation.
In Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, some youth, mistaking a Dalit brother and sister for a lover couple and claiming to be members of Bajrang Dal, beat them with belts. 20 year old Atul has suffered serious injuries in the incident, while his sister Muskaan has suffered minor injuries. Two days after the incident, the police have registered a case of assault, threat to kill and under SC/ST Act and have started searching for the accused.
Police registered the case and started investigation
On the complaint of Atul and Muskaan, the police have registered a case against Sahil Sahu and his two associates under sections 294, 323, 427, 506, 34 as well as SC ST Act and started searching for them.

On Monday, in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, the body of a Dalit was found lying in a field in another village under suspicious circumstances. There were injury marks on the head and eyes of the deceased. Family members have expressed suspicion of murder.
In fact, the blood-soaked body of Gangaram Raidas (60 years), former head of Narayanmau village, was found on the ridge of a farm in Karwa village of Mallawan Kotwali area. There were injury marks on his head and face. Family members say that Gangaram had gone out for defecation on a motorcycle with his nephew Pappu at around 5 am on Sunday morning. But, did not return. The forensic and police team reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and after investigation sent the body for post-mortem. Police say that further action will be taken in the case after the post-mortem report and on the complaint of the family members.
Rape case now registered in Sakshi murder case
There has been a new twist in the case of murder of a minor girl by gluing a knife in Delhi’s Shahabad Dairy. According to the media report, the post mortem report and the report of Pareek Science Lab have come. On the basis of that, a separate case has been registered against the girl under the section of rape. Police is now searching for the rape accused. Delhi Police has also filed the charge sheet in the murder case in the court.
The 16-year-old girl met a horrific end at the hands of a 20-year-old man named Mohammad Sahil Sarfaraz Khan. Khan brutally attacked her more than 20 times and then hit her on the head with a stone. Shockingly, passersby failed to intervene or assist the victim during the horrific attack, which was captured on CCTV cameras installed on the road.
After the gruesome video went viral on social media, Delhi Police caught the culprit from his aunt’s house in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. According to the police statement, Sahil Khan and the victim were in a relationship for about two years till May that year. Initially the police had registered a case of murder. However, as the investigation progressed, they filed an amended FIR under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, molestation and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
