Uttar Pradesh. In a village of Kokhraj police station area of ​​Kaushambi district of UP, a case of some people demolishing the houses of Dalit colony and occupying the land has come to light. It is alleged that half a dozen people have tried to take over the constructed house and its wall by demolishing it. Half a dozen men and women of the village demonstrated in the Collectorate and gave a letter complaining about their problem to the DM. DM Rajesh Rai, after hearing the complaint of the victim’s families, has directed SDM Sirathu to investigate and take action.

Ajay Kumar Gautam, Subhash Chandra, Ram Chandra, Roshni Devi, Manoj, Kamlesh Kumar, residents of Mohalla Chamdauri of village Makdoompur Qazi of Kokhraj police station area of ​​UP, were given houses by the village head by allotting them Gram Sabha land due to poverty and destitution. Was given permission to make.

Ajay Kumar tells The Mooknayak that, two days ago, 7-8 people of the village captured his built house and its wall by demolishing it. If they protest, they are ready to kill them with sticks. Complained by giving an application to the police station, but the police made the villagers (victims) go around in the name of investigation for 2 days in the name of investigation.

It is alleged that the police station colluded with the accused and did not give possession of the land to the victims. According to the villagers, he was tired of making rounds of the police station for 2 days. Since no action has been taken, he has reached the DM office with the hope of justice. He has received assurance of action against the accused.

DM gave instructions for investigation in the matter

In this case, the victimized villagers appealed for justice to Akar DM Rajesh Rai at the Collectorate in Manjhanpur on Friday. The DM immediately directed SDM Sirathu to investigate the problem of the affected people and take strict action based on the veracity of the case. The aggrieved party has been assured of action after investigation.

What do the statistics say on Dalit oppression?

The National Crime Records Bureau’s annual report 2022 recorded 57,582 cases of crime against Dalits and 10,064 cases against tribals. This is 13.1 percent and 14.3 percent more respectively compared to the year 2021. In Uttar Pradesh alone, 15,368 cases of crimes against Dalits were registered. Earlier, in response to a question by BSP MP Girish Chandra, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra had told in Parliament in March 2023 that 1,89,945 cases of crime against Dalits have been registered between the year 2018-2022. Of these, 49,613 cases were registered only in Uttar Pradesh.
