Uttar Pradesh: Drunk teacher accused of brutally beating Dalit student
Teacher suspended after video of him applying oil and turmeric on wound went viral.

Uttar Pradesh. A case of a teacher beating a Dalit student has come to light in Pratapgarh district. The family members have accused the teacher that the accused teacher smokes in front of the students in the school. Besides this, he is also addicted to drinking alcohol. The accused teacher has been suspended after the video of the victim’s family applying turmeric and oil on the student’s injuries went viral on social media.
This whole matter is of Emapur Bindhan village of Maheshganj police station area of Pratapgarh district. This incident happened with the son of Rajesh Kumar Gautam, a resident of this village. Rajesh tells The Mooknayak, “My son is a class four student of Emapur Bindhan Primary School. He went to school as usual on 22 February 2024. During this time he was playing with pebbles during lunch. Teacher Ajay Singh Forbade him. My son stopped playing with the pebbles.”
“After some time, some other students came and started playing with the pebbles. Those students called my son. He also started playing with them. When Ajay Singh saw him playing again, he got angry at him. He told the other students Didn’t do anything while they caught hold of my son and started beating him. They also called my son caste based words. They picked him up and threw him. He suffered a lot of injuries. Abhay Singh is a very careless teacher. He is always under the influence of alcohol. He smokes in front of the school children. Because of him, the students are not able to study properly, nor are the students disciplined. When my son came back home, he told the whole story to me and the whole family. Told”, said the student’s father Rajesh.
Rajesh says, “I decided to complain to the police about this matter. When the master came to know about this, he asked me to come home and get my son treated. Along with this, he also lured me with money. But I rejected his gift. This made Master very angry. He has threatened us.” The victim’s family has filed a written complaint in the police station regarding the entire incident.
The Mooknayak spoke to Maheshganj police station in-charge Shravan Kumar Singh regarding this matter. He said, “Investigation is going on in this matter. Due to leave, the investigation could not be completed. Once the investigation of the matter is completed, a case will be registered and legal action will be taken.”
In this case, Basic Education Officer Bhupendra Singh told The Mooknayak that the accused teacher has been suspended. Along with this, orders for departmental inquiry have also been given.
