Rajasthan: Dalit youth’s marriage procession stopped due to horse riding, temple also locked

The marriage ceremony of Dalit could be completed in the presence of Tehsildar and heavy police force.

Rajasthan. The Dalit was stopped from riding a horse in a village in the Mundawar area of Khairthal-Tijara district, about 160 km from the capital. This incident turned the happiness and joy of drums and drums during the wedding into tension. This is not the first case when such an incident has happened. Earlier, the video of a Dalit groom being slapped after seeing him riding a mare in Mansa area of Gujarat was also in the news for a long time. The groom’s family took refuge in the police regarding this matter, after which the Dalit’s Bindoli (procession procession) could be taken out.
The whole matter is of Lamchapur village of Mundawar tehsil of Khairthal district of Rajasthan. This incident took place during the Bindoli taken out during the marriage program of Rahul, a resident of Lamchapur. The victim, Rahul, told The Mooknayak, “On the evening of 24th February, a wedding procession took place from my house. We were ready to go to Kotputli area with the wedding procession. During this time, some influential people of the village arrived. The wedding preparations were complete, Bindoli was about to leave. When I went to sit on the mare, I was stopped from sitting on the mare. During this, there was a ruckus at the spot for a long time. Our family members informed the Bhim Army worker about the matter. After which he reached the spot. Came. After which an uproar started. Bhim Army workers called the police on the spot. After which I could complete the ritual of horse riding.”

Rahul further explains, “The procession had come out and reached near the temple. During this, they locked the temple and stopped the puja from being carried out. The police were once again called to the spot. The police administration came to the spot and got the lock of the temple opened. I was feeling very scared. After which the police provided security to my wedding procession.”
In this case, Mundwar Tehsildar Madan Singh told The Mooknayak that a complaint was received against a Dalit youth in Lamchapur of the area for not sitting on a mare. After this, the administration reached the spot and in the presence of the police administration, the groom Rahul Kumar was made to sit on the mare and Bindoli was taken out with all the rituals.
According to the information, during the evacuation of Bindoli, Mundawar police station in-charge, Kotkasim police station in-charge and Tatarpur police station in-charge along with heavy police force were also present. Tehsildar Madan Singh handled the matter. Allegedly in this case, the police have also registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the family members.
Dalit youth was slapped for riding a horse in Gujarat
On the afternoon of February 12, 2024, in Chadsana village in Mansa area of Gandhinagar district of Gujarat, Dalit groom Vikas Chavda was beaten up and caste-related abuses while riding a mare. The accused misbehaved with the wedding guests and after removing the groom from the mare, they also got the DJ switched off. A video of this went viral rapidly on social media. After which the police reached the spot and provided security to the procession. Along with this, a case was also registered against the accused.
Dalit leader reached SP office sitting on a mare
In protest against the incident that took place in Mansa area, Dalit leader Kalpesh Parmar had registered his protest by riding on a mare on 17 February 2024. Not only this, Kalpesh also reached the SP office sitting on a mare and also submitted a memorandum to the SP.
